How to calculate customs duty if ship to China

When ship internationally, an extra fee usually will be charged by the customs of the destination country. This extra fee is duty. Before sending your package, you may want to know how much duty the receiver will be charged.

Here is a simple method to calculate the Chinese customs duty:

Duty you need to pay = Duty paid price * Customs rate

However, when the accurate price of the item is more than 2*duty paid price or less than 1/2 of duty paid price, you need to calculate the duty in this way:

Duty you need to pay = Accurate price * Customs rate

For example, if you purchase a jacket (￥500), the duty you will need to pay = ￥300*20%=￥60

If this jacket costs you￥800 (>￥300*2), then the duty will be ￥800*20%=￥160

If this jacket costs you ￥120 (< ￥300*1/2), then the duty will be ￥120*20%=￥24
